Death Juice Rat Rod Customs: The Side-by-Side Saga. Part 2 of 43

Lehi Bikebarn Delivered, and We Rolled Out

Today Spencer and Mike at the Lehi Bikebarn officially stamped their fingerprints all over this project. Over on Instagram, you’ll find them at @bikebarnbmx, and if you’re rocking it old school on the web, just search Bikebarnbmx.com

The wheels? Trued like a samurai sword.

The axles, cones, and bearings? Serviced, replaced, and spun into silky perfection. Now, when you roll, you glide.

We hit pause in the shop for what might be the most time-consuming decision of the build so far. The tire choice. The candidates: pink, blue, purple, gumwall, whitewall. After deep reflection (and a few snacks), we landed on all-black KENDA tires. Why? They’re simple. They’re timeless. They don’t yellow, scuff ugly, or scream for attention. They just work.

With rubber sorted, we sprinted home for final assembly. Tires mounted, tubes tucked in. And yes, I snuck in one little splurge. A Stolen Brand front wheel (no, not actually stolen) in glorious polished aluminum with a sealed hub. It’s the perfect modern wink to this retro Rat Rod team trike.

We bolted everything together, hopped on, and hit the streets for our first test roll. Smooth, fast, and ridiculous in all the right ways.

Next up: cleaning, spit-shining, and adding parade-ready bling. We’re talking mirror chrome, sparkle, and just enough overkill to make small-town parade announcers stutter when we roll by.

The Side-by-Side is alive.
